The Toy Foundation (TTF) is a 501c3 children’s charity whose mission is to provide joy and comfort, enhance wellbeing and support learning for vulnerable children, families and communities, through the experience of play and toys.
Established in 1961, and relaunched by The Toy Association in 2003, we represent the North American toy industry’s efforts to provide joy and comfort to children in need, who are undergoing the toughest of circumstances.
With the support of the toy industry, including toy manufacturers, retailers, distributors, and licensors, TTF’s signature program, The Toy Bank, has provided an enormous amount of toys to more than 26 million children around the globe, thanks to our generous donors.
How do we accomplish our mission?:
- We provide millions of brand new toys for children in need annually
- We distribute grant funding to children’s charities globally
- We establish partnerships with national organizations to impact special populations of children in need
The stress and trauma of military life, foster care, poverty, cancer treatments, and the aftermath of natural disasters have profound effects on children’s physical and emotional frame of mind. When a child receives a new toy, they feel special. A toy reminds them that someone out there cares about them and to provide a sense of hope and promise.
Putting smiles on faces one of the many reasons we do what we do. Play is also a critical part of healthy childhood development, and children in vulnerable communities are less likely to have access to toys and play environments.
